SHB was awarded a Certificate of Merit for its outstanding achievements in implementing the project "Supporting women's entrepreneurship in the period 2017-2025".

Recently, in Hanoi , Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and delivered a speech at the Conference summarizing the Project "Supporting Women's Entrepreneurship in the period 2017-2025," implementing the Government's Project "Supporting Women's Entrepreneurship in the period 2026-2035," and commending exemplary cooperatives managed by women in 2025. The conference was organized by the Vietnam Women's Union in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation at 34 locations across provinces and cities nationwide.

At the conference, Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB) was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit for its outstanding achievements in implementing the "Support for Women's Entrepreneurship Project giai đoạn 2017-2025".

For many years, SHB has been a partner with female entrepreneurs, supporting women on their entrepreneurial journey. In 2023, SHB collaborated with the Women's Entrepreneurship Competition organized by the Vietnam Women's Union with the theme "Women Entrepreneurs, Leveraging Local Resources". This is one of the key activities under the "Support for Women's Entrepreneurship Project giai đoạn 2017 – 2025" approved by the Prime Minister and implemented from 2018 to the present. SHB sponsored the winning project in the competition. In the future, the Bank will continue to accompany, support, and provide effective and appropriate financial solutions to help projects achieve long-term, safe, and sustainable development.

SHB partners with the competition "Women Entrepreneurs, Leveraging Local Resources"

In 2024, the Vietnam Women's Union Central Committee organized a competition themed "Women's Innovative Entrepreneurship and Green Transformation" to select outstanding startup projects that meet the requirements of green transformation, contributing to the implementation of the Government's National Strategy on Green Growth for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. SHB partnered with the competition as a Silver Sponsor. This was part of a series of events and the final awards ceremony for the national-level "Women's Innovative Entrepreneurship and Green Transformation" competition.

Furthermore, to support women-owned small and medium-sized enterprises (WSMEs) in recovering and stabilizing their production and business operations due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, since the end of 2021, SHB has collaborated with ADB to implement the "Support Program to Mitigate the Impact of Covid-19 on WSMEs". Notably, SHB is the bank with the highest amount of loan disbursements for WSMEs among the 5 participating banks, with $1.7 million.

In March 2023, SHB signed a $120 million credit cooperation agreement with IFC to develop its SME loan portfolio, prioritizing women-owned businesses and those involved in supply chains. SHB committed to allocating at least 37.5% of the loan value to women-owned businesses, and the bank will receive $226,000 in funding from the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi) and the Women Entrepreneurs Opportunity Fund (WEOF) – global funding initiatives aimed at expanding access to capital for women entrepreneurs.

SHB has offered many incentives to businesses owned by women in recent times.

Recently, SHB also collaborated with ADB to organize a Gender Awareness Training Program, affirming the bank's commitment to integrating ESG elements into its sustainable development strategy. The program not only contributes to promoting gender equality but also focuses on supporting female customers – especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) owned by women – to enhance their capabilities, expand access to finance, and promote the role of women in the economy.
