At the first show of Vietnam International Fashion Week Fall - Winter 2025 (evening of November 12), Lai Mai Hoa took on two important roles: opening (first face) and closing (vedette).

The incident happened when she was performing as the vedette in a blue design made of see-through fabric by designer Ha Linh Thu. While walking down the stairs, the long skirt of the outfit accidentally caused Mai Hoa to slip and fall, causing the entire audience to hold their breath.

Naomi Campbell (born 1970), nicknamed "Black Panther", is one of the legendary supermodels of the "Big Six" group (6 supermodels) that dominated the fashion industry in the 1980s-1990s.

Interestingly, the Vietnam's Next Top Model Champion is still a student at the University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Hanoi. She both studies and works diligently as a model.

Sharing about how she manages her time to both study and participate in artistic activities, Mai Hoa revealed: “Before joining Vietnam's Next Top Model, I spent 70% of my time studying and 30% performing. After winning the championship, thanks to the school's support, I was able to focus more on my modeling career.”

Mai Hoa's biggest advantage is her impressive height. Talking about her secret, she revealed her exercise habits and nutrition since childhood: "In middle school, I swam a lot and ate a lot of eggs, plus the genetic factor in my family, so I grew 7-8cm taller every year."

She also emphasized the importance of maintaining a straight and beautiful posture, especially during periods of rapid growth: “In secondary school, I used to have a slightly hunchback when I grew up quickly, but thanks to my mother's guidance in straightening my shoulders, I am more confident with my current posture.”

Like many tall models, Mai Hoa has had difficulty choosing suitable outfits.

“About 2-3 years ago, when the Vietnamese fashion market did not have many designs for tall people, I often had to have them tailored or find them in a few rare stores. Now it is much easier because there are many domestic brands interested in this group of customers,” she said.

With her physical advantage and constant efforts, Lai Mai Hoa increasingly affirms her form on the catwalk.
