On the morning of December 1, the final round of the 2025 National VMoot Moot Court Competition (VMoot 2025) took place at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law. The competition concluded a nearly three-month journey of competition for law students from more than 40 training institutions nationwide.
As a result, The Laurus 8310 team from Hanoi Law University successfully surpassed BITEDUYTROJ team (Ho Chi Minh City University of Law) to win the 9th National VMoot championship in 2025, along with a prize worth 100 million VND. The second place team received a prize of 70 million VND.
The content of the final debate revolved around a hypothetical case of a capital contribution contract dispute, one of the common problems in business operations but still has many different understandings and approaches.
The exam required teams to handle a series of important legal issues such as: the validity of capital contribution agreements, conditions for confirming corporate membership rights, the ability to request a refund of transferred money, the jurisdiction of the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC) and how to determine the statute of limitations when new circumstances arise.
These are contents that require candidates to combine knowledge of corporate law, civil law and arbitration proceedings with situational analysis and quick response skills.
As plaintiff (BITEDUYTROJ) and defendant (The Laurus 8310), the two teams excellently demonstrated their legal capacity through sharp responses and tight application of legal basis to defend their positions.
Through each presentation and rebuttal, the teams continued to demonstrate their understanding of the law, situation handling skills and courage in the face of highly specialized questions from the panel of judges.
Along with the two main prizes, the organizing committee also awarded the best article prize to team BITEDUYTROJ (Ho Chi Minh City University of Law), the excellent contestant prize to contestant Thai Gia Nghi (Ho Chi Minh City University of Law), the most popular team prize to team LCCERS (Foreign Trade University), and the most effortful team prize to team AQUATRIO (University of Commerce).
VMoot 2025 has the participation of more than 80 teams from more than 40 universities with law majors across the country. The 12 best teams were selected to participate in the live debate rounds on November 29 and 30 at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.
The competition received professional sponsorship from VIAC and support from many sponsors of many law firms.
