Highlights Jannik Sinner 2-1 Casper Ruud (source: Tennis TV)
Casper Ruud entered the Rome Open final with an impressive record on clay courts. Since 2020, the Norwegian player has won the most matches and titles on the ATP Tour clay courts, most recently the Madrid Open last season. However, against Jannik Sinner, Ruud once again had to accept defeat.

Ruud started strongly, winning the first two games in a row, showing clear improvement compared to their previous encounters. However, Sinner quickly regained his rhythm, broke Ruud's serve, and brought the first set back to a tie. At the crucial moment, the Italian player showed more composure to win 6-4.
In the second set, Sinner broke serve right from the start and completely controlled the match. Ruud tried to catch up but couldn't prevent his opponent from winning.
This victory completes Sinner's Golden Masters collection, having won all nine Masters 1000 tournaments. Before him, only Novak Djokovic had achieved the same feat, in 2018. Notably, Sinner also became the first Italian player to win the Rome Open in 50 years, since Adriano Panatta.
With a streak of 29 consecutive wins, Sinner will enter Roland Garros as the top favorite.
