Summary of the Program to support families with disabled people in Yen Nguyen commune to raise breeding cows in 2025

On the morning of December 9, the Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans of Tuyen Quang province held a conference to review the Program to support families with disabled people in Yen Nguyen commune to raise breeding cows in 2025.

Attending the event were leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Director of the Humanitarian Assistance Development Support Program of Green Cross Switzerland in Vietnam; Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Yen Nguyen commune and 30 households raising cows under the program.

In April 2025, the Association implemented the "Program to support breeding cows for households of people with disabilities and orphans" in Yen Nguyen commune. The Association supported 30 breeding cows and 6 calves for 30 households in village 10 in the commune, with a total value of over 600 million VND sponsored by the Green Cross Switzerland Organization.

The Provincial Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Orphans awarded certificates of merit to the groups.

Households participating in the program all have initial knowledge and experience in caring for and raising breeding cows. The inspection and supervision of the program implementation, especially the livestock situation in households, is of interest and importance. In addition to 3 direct inspections and supervisions conducted by the Provincial Association and the Commune People's Committee to households; the Program Management Board, agricultural extension officers, commune veterinarians and the Executive Board of the Disabled Economic Club regularly monitor and guide households to promptly handle disease situations arising in cows.

After more than 8 months of implementing the program, from 36 cows to now there are 48 cows. Of which, 29 are breeding cows and 19 are calves. The program "Supporting breeding cows, creating opportunities to escape poverty for households of people with disabilities and orphans" in Yen Nguyen commune has brought initial results for the disadvantaged, with profound humanity, meeting the expectations of people with disabilities.

On this occasion, the Provincial Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans awarded certificates of merit to 2 groups and 5 individuals who had achievements in deploying and implementing the program.
