On November 25, 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Environment reported on the results of foreign affairs in 2025 and the direction and tasks of foreign affairs in 2026. According to the report in 2025, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has strictly implemented policies and documents on foreign affairs, ensuring compliance with the regulations of the Party and the State, contributing to creating unity and effectiveness in the management of foreign affairs activities of the industry. The Department has sent 02 working delegations to Khammouane province, Lao PDR to serve the project 'Rice cultivation combined with giant freshwater prawn farming' and 01 civil servant was sent to Australia to attend a knowledge exchange program at the invitation of the World Bank. On the afternoon of the delegation's arrival, the Department chaired and worked with 24 working delegations, including 65 foreign guests who came to visit, research, survey and implement projects in the locality; At the same time, the Department coordinated with the World Bank's Working Group No. 2 with 28 foreign guests. Border and island work was carried out in accordance with regulations, with 1,927/1,927 fishing vessels in operation having installed voyage monitoring equipment. The Department coordinated with relevant units to control exploitation activities, update the situation of fishing vessels and fishermen violating foreign waters; carry out certification of exploited aquatic products and registration, licensing, and inspection of fishing vessels in accordance with regulations.

In the field of economic diplomacy, the Department has created 04 presentation videos introducing the potential of agriculture and OCOP products; supported 20 cooperatives in applying electronic diary (FaceFarm) and accounting software (WACA) to serve traceability; at the same time, coordinated to support cooperatives participating in the Project 'Sustainable development of one million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation in the Mekong Delta by 2030'. Cultural diplomacy and foreign information work have been promoted through the coordination of organizing the Vietnam Salt Festival - Bac Lieu 2025, preparing content for the 2nd Ca Mau Crab Festival and participating in the Fair and Exhibition of OCOP products in the Southern region in 2025 in An Giang.
Cooperation activities with foreign non- governmental organizations continue to be effectively implemented, with the SRD, BIODEV and Aqua Xanh projects being implemented as planned, in line with the policy of sustainable aquaculture development, climate change adaptation and ensuring livelihoods for people.
Entering 2026, the Department will continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement regulations on foreign affairs activities; support procedures for foreign organizations to visit and work; promote the promotion of the province's potential and advantages; step up inspection and control of fishing vessels and closely coordinate in combating IUU fishing; expand international cooperation in the environmental field; at the same time, promote trade promotion and support OCOP products to participate in key markets.
In addition, the Department recommends that the Central Government supplement resources, strengthen flexible mechanisms for trade promotion and support training and fostering of foreign affairs skills. At the same time, it requests Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to support connecting international partners and importers of the province's key agricultural products./.
