Notebook: Not Just Disregarding the Audience

After being skeptical, singer Jack (real name Trinh Tran Phuong Tuan) officially appeared in episode 1 of the show Running Man Vietnam (Playing is Running) season 2, broadcast on the evening of September 19 on channel HTV7 and on YouTube, despite the "wave" of protests from the audience before.

Just last month, the singer’s personal scandals were exposed. He hid the fact that he had a child and was accused by his ex-girlfriend of neglecting their daughter. At the same time, two other girls also spoke up about the singer having a relationship, but deceiving them. The singer later apologized to his fans on his personal page and said: “Jack set a goal of self-improvement before any musical plans.” For many viewers, that apology was not enough. They were disappointed in the singer’s morality.
Right at the time of Jack's scandal, many viewers asked the producers of Running Man Vietnam to remove this male singer from the lineup for season 2. However, the producers did not mention whether Jack would continue to participate or not. Many promotional events for Running Man Vietnam season 2, such as online interactions with the audience and the release of behind-the-scenes photos, did not include Jack. Only when the program was about to air did the producers release an introductory trailer that included the male singer's image. Despite many viewers expressing anger, episode 1 of Running Man Vietnam season 2 with Jack's appearance was still aired.

Audience reaction when 'Running Man Vietnam season 2' aired but still had Jack

On the Running Man Vietnam fanpage, many viewers were upset, saying that the producers and the TV station that broadcast the show had been too disrespectful to the audience. When the singer's scandal had not yet subsided, and he had not had enough time to "rehabilitate himself", he quickly appeared on the show (although there were images recorded before the scandal) as if nothing had happened.
A cultural manager said that the daily images and lifestyles of artists have a great influence on young fans. Therefore, if those lifestyles and images are negative, it will have a bad impact on young people.
So, is letting a male singer who has just been condemned for his promiscuous lifestyle appear and laugh on a TV show like that just a sign of disrespect for the audience, or is it an indirect act of promoting his unhealthy lifestyle?!
