Hue City Department of Health stepped in to investigate after many workers were hospitalized after meals.

On the morning of November 12, Mr. Tran Kiem Hao, Director of the Hue City Department of Health, said that the Department had coordinated with Huong Tra Medical Center and other units to inspect the collective kitchen of Joint Well Vietnam Co., Ltd. (located in Tu Ha Industrial Park, Huong Tra Ward) immediately after many workers of this Company were hospitalized after meals.

Previously, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on November 11, Huong Tra Medical Center (Hue City) received 13 cases of workers of Joint Well Vietnam Co., Ltd. who were hospitalized with suspected food poisoning after lunch. In addition, 1 worker of this company was transferred to Hue Central Hospital, branch 2, for treatment.

All patients showed symptoms of nausea and allergies. Some cases had more severe symptoms such as fever, weakness in limbs, fatigue, and difficulty moving. After being cared for and treated by doctors, the health of the patients is now gradually stabilizing and is being monitored. Through epidemiological investigation, the workers' meal menu includes fish, eggs, and some other dishes.

The Food Safety Department, Hue City Department of Health said that after inspection, the kitchen of the above Company has a certificate of food safety eligibility. The units have inspected the food processing and preservation process and taken samples from the Company's collective kitchen, sent them to the Hue City Center for Disease Control for testing to clarify the cause and promptly take preventive measures to avoid similar incidents from happening.
