On the afternoon of July 19, the 2025 National U21 Tournament Finals opened at Ba Ria Stadium with two matches of Group A.

In the first match, SHB Da Nang won PVF-CAND 1-0 thanks to Thanh Nhan's only goal in the 83rd minute. But what is more noteworthy is that this match had 11 yellow cards and 2 red cards due to the tension between the players of both teams.

In the 27th minute, the referee had to show 3 yellow cards to Nguyen Van Bach, Tran Hoang Khanh (PVF-CAND) and Tran Nhat Dong (SHB Da Nang).

Or in the 90+5 minute, the referee had to give two yellow cards to Huynh Tran Quoc Bao and Nguyen Cong Tuan Anh, both from the Han River team. In the end, SHB Da Nang received 6 yellow cards and 1 red card.

In the second match, which was also the opening match, U21 Song Lam Nghe An defeated the host U21 football team of Ho Chi Minh City 2-1.

Playing dominantly and creating many scoring opportunities in the first half, U21 Song Lam Nghe An had to wait until the 63rd minute to open the scoring thanks to Duy Hao. But just 8 minutes later, Quang Khoi scored the equalizer 1-1 for U21 football team in Ho Chi Minh City.

However, their bravery helped the young Nghe An team score the winning goal 2-1 in the 81st minute. Goalkeeper Hoa Xuan Tin excellently pushed the ball away after a shot from a U21 Song Lam Nghe An player but could not stop Trong Tuan's close-range rebound.

But just like the first match, the referee had to "tire out" cards in this match. Specifically, the referee showed 7 yellow cards to U21 Song Lam Nghe An and 1 indirect red card to Le Tan Dung. The home team also received 3 yellow cards.

250 million VND prize for the winning team

The 2025 National U21 Tournament takes place from July 19 to 31 at three stadiums: Ba Ria, Long Tam and Tan Hung.

The 12 teams participating in the tournament are divided into 3 groups, playing a round robin to calculate points and rankings. The top two teams in each group and the 2 third-placed teams with the best results in the 3 groups will qualify for the quarter-finals.
