Exciting New Year's Eve and Spring Festival celebrations take place in Cao Bang.

VHO - On the evening of February 16th, the 29th day of the Lunar New Year, an art program titled "Celebrating the Year of the Horse 2026" took place on the riverside pedestrian street in Cao Bang City. At 00:00 on February 17th, 2026 (the moment of midnight on the 1st day of the Lunar New Year), a low-altitude fireworks display will be held, creating a highlight to welcome the new year in a vibrant and warm atmosphere.

The program offers locals and tourists unique artistic performances, folk songs, and folk dances that reflect the rich cultural identity of the ethnic communities living in the border region of Cao Bang .

This is also the moment when locals and tourists come together to celebrate New Year's Eve, enjoy spectacular artistic performances, and express their wishes for peace, good fortune, and a prosperous start to the new year.

The pedestrian street area is decorated with vibrant spring colors, combining music , lights, and community activities, contributing to recreating the beautiful traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations of the ethnic groups in Cao Bang.

In the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), the streets of the city center are adorned with colorful flags, lanterns, and spring-themed decorations, attracting large crowds of people to visit, take photos, and have fun.

The atmosphere was lively with shopping and strolling during the Lunar New Year; families gathered together, children eagerly participated in folk games, and adults enjoyed artistic performances and exchanged New Year's greetings and wishes for prosperity.

Smiles, New Year's greetings, and family gatherings spread throughout the pedestrian street, clearly reflecting the excitement and confidence of the people on the eve of the new year.

Many activities took place from 8:00 PM to 9:45 PM on February 13, 14, 15, and 16, 2026 (corresponding to the 26th, 27th, 28th, and 29th days of the 12th lunar month), at the stage in Garden No. 1, Kim Dong Pedestrian Street.

Along with that, many types of folk games and cultural and artistic activities are organized along the street, such as: folk dances by clubs; folk games like stacking wooden blocks, sack racing, O An Quan (a traditional board game), bamboo pole jumping, flag flicking, blindfolded ball hitting, grass pulling; bonfires;

Mini gameshows for audience interaction; lively DJ and pop music programs; book exhibitions and presentations, a mobile library; and photo exhibitions showcasing springtime and the natural beauty of Cao Bang.

The series of activities was organized in a solemn, practical, safe, and economical manner, creating a vibrant atmosphere of competition right from the beginning of the year; meeting the people's need for cultural and spiritual enjoyment; creating a healthy playground, strengthening interaction and community cohesion; and at the same time contributing to preserving and promoting the national cultural identity.
