Short-term land lease auctions are expected to be lively at the beginning of 2026.

DNO - In the early days of 2026, land use rights auctions in Da Nang kicked off actively with sessions selecting organizations and individuals to lease multiple plots and land areas for short-term periods. During the year, the city plans to auction off a series of large land areas and residential land, with a total starting price of nearly 10,000 billion VND.

From the beginning of 2026, many organizations and individuals registered to lease land and offered higher rental prices than the starting price, indicating a huge demand for temporary land leases from the State for short periods.

During the first three weeks of January 2026, the Da Nang City Land Development Center organized three selection sessions for organizations and individuals to lease short-term plots of land belonging to the city's public land fund.

Over 80 applications were submitted for indirect "auction" to lease 12 plots of land designated for transportation infrastructure for short-term use in investing in and operating parking lots and garages. Many plots were registered with rental prices 3 to 5 times higher than the starting price, demonstrating the strong demand and appeal for temporary leasing of public land.

Mr. La Nguyen Tuong Lam, a participant in the short-term public land lease auction, said that many people currently need to lease land from the city for business, trading goods, and providing services. He hopes that the city will continue to offer more land plots and areas for lease and expand the land use purposes to create favorable conditions for land lessees.

The land at the corner of 3 Tháng 2 Street and Đống Đa Street (Hải Châu Ward) is being leased for investment and operation as a parking lot and garage.

Currently, in addition to completing the procedures to make 10 plots of land and 16 large land areas in Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son, Hoa Xuan, Cam Le, Lien Chieu, Hoa Khanh wards, etc., available for short-term lease in the first quarter of 2026, the City's Land Fund Development Center is proposing to add 60 more residential plots and 10 large land areas from the public land fund for short-term lease.

At the same time, the unit continues to inspect and review all public land in the area, proposing to put areas and plots of land without a planned use or resettlement arrangement into short-term leasing, contributing to serving socio- economic development goals.

Simultaneously, the proposal suggests that the city lease land for multi-purpose use to meet the needs of various residents, households, and businesses, as well as to create an attractive environment for more land plots to be temporarily leased, thereby reducing the problem of abandoned land and wasting land resources.

According to Huynh Tan Quang, Deputy Director of the City's Land Development Center, based on the results of the 2025 land use rights auction which generated over 2,152 billion VND, exceeding the target by 152 billion VND, the unit is developing a more systematic plan for land exploitation in 2026.

Accordingly, the center will continue to auction and lease large plots of land and subdivided plots for short-term use; and at the same time, put more land into development according to the needs of people, households, and businesses, contributing to avoiding waste of public land, ensuring environmental hygiene and urban aesthetics.

The Da Nang City Land Development Center has reported to the City People's Committee for consideration of a list of 15 land plots for auction in 2026 to attract investment in socio-economic development projects, especially large-scale projects such as: Hoa Phuoc Wholesale Market (Hoa Xuan Ward); the complex of facilities serving the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (Ngu Hanh Son Ward); the Creative Space project in Hoa Xuan Ward (Hoa Xuan Ward); the commercial and service complex in land plot A1-1 with frontage on Vo Van Kiet Street and A1-2-1 with frontage on Pham Van Dong Street (An Hai Ward); land plot A2-1 in Tien Son residential area (Ngu Hanh Son Ward)...

In addition, the auction list includes 20 more land plots to attract investment in large-scale projects, especially plots A2-1, A2-1B, A2-2B, A2-3A, A2-3B in the urban area south of Tran Thi Ly Bridge (Ngu Hanh Son Ward); plots A1-1, A1-2 in the commercial and service area project southeast of the Pham Van Dong - Ngo Quyen intersection (An Hai Ward); and large land plots in Hoa Xuan Ward… The total value of the 35 land plots mentioned above is estimated at approximately 9,626 billion VND at the starting price.

In addition, the Da Nang City Land Development Center will also organize an auction of 81 subdivided residential land plots in 2026, with a total expected revenue of approximately 378 billion VND (based on the starting price).

In addition, the unit reported to the City People's Committee for consideration of the list and plan for auctioning subdivided residential land plots in the city for the period 2026 - 2030 with 645 land plots; of which, in 2026, auction procedures will be implemented for 199 land plots with a total expected revenue of approximately 874 billion VND.

In 2026, the City's Land Development Center plans to auction large land plots to attract investment in socio-economic development projects with a total starting value of over 9,000 billion VND; at the same time, it will organize auctions for the right to use approximately 200 subdivided land plots.

The unit will also continue to propose putting more land plots and areas up for auction as requested by the city, meeting the needs of investors and increasing budget revenue, contributing to socio-economic development.
