Beyond the opening night, this year's series of events spans seven consecutive days, featuring a variety of engaging cultural, artistic, and experiential activities. The programs are designed as a journey of discovery, where traditional values blend with the spirit of modern integration.
From May 9th to 13th, vibrant street art programs took place, blending traditional folk art forms such as Xam singing, Ca Tru singing, and Cheo opera with modern art forms like hip hop, DJ, and Zumba.
Many international art troupes also presented spectacular performances, contributing to the vibrant and festive atmosphere in the heart of the city.
Notable highlights include the "Hai Phong - The Quintessence of Heritage" parade, the 4th Hai Phong Expanded Puppet Festival 2026, street music performances, the "Hai Phong's Young Talents" music night, the "City Life" program, and Zumba shows performed by Hai Phong Zumba clubs. These activities attracted a large number of locals and tourists, creating a vibrant and modern atmosphere for this year's festival.
Alongside the art performances, there are exhibition spaces showcasing "Hai Phong Past" and "Hai Phong Present," featuring 18 booths in the central flower garden area. The "Past Space" introduces intangible cultural values, traditional products, and historical landmarks of the city; while the "Present Space" displays contemporary cultural and artistic products, reflecting Hai Phong's creativity and integration in its new development phase.
The culinary space has also become an attractive destination, showcasing many signature dishes of Hai Phong along with the culinary culture of countries that have significant investment partnerships with Hai Phong, such as South Korea, Japan, and China.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thom, a resident of Hong Bang ward, said that she and her friends visited the booths and enjoyed the art program on the opening night. “The atmosphere was very cheerful and lively. I think this year's activities are more diverse, combining both traditional and modern elements. This is also an opportunity to promote the image of Hai Phong to tourists,” Ms. Thom shared.
Throughout the festival, in addition to the main stage, there are also performance areas featuring entertainment, circus acts, folk art, and cultural games for locals and tourists to enjoy in open spaces. This direct interaction transforms the city center into a vibrant "community stage," where people not only enjoy but also directly participate in cultural activities.
The series of cultural and artistic events at the central flower garden and the City Theater are considered the highlight of the special Red Flamboyant Flower Festival – Hai Phong's first festival after its merger and its new status as the third-largest city in the country in terms of economic scale. Through this, Hai Phong continues to affirm its image as a dynamic, livable, friendly city that is increasingly attractive to domestic and international tourists.
