The tourism industry in provinces and localities is preparing a series of attractive events and activities to attract tourists during the upcoming New Year and Lunar New Year holidays.
A variety of attractive tourist activities
At the end of the year, Vietnam tourism is entering its peak period, welcoming international visitors to relax and avoid the cold. At the same time, domestic tourism is preparing to enter the festival tourism season. Therefore, provinces and localities have organized many year-end tourism weeks to stimulate tourism demand, preparing for development momentum for a new year.
The year-end travel weeks typically last throughout December, allowing visitors to experience many regional tourism products. In addition, visitors can enjoy the festive atmosphere of Christmas and New Year 2025. In particular, visitors to the year-end travel weeks also receive incentives and deep discounts.
Most recently, the 4th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week 2024 took place from December 5 to 12, including complex activities, unique tourism, sports and music events such as: Cho Lon Food Story Festival, Ho Do International Music Festival, Light Decoration Program... The tourism week not only spreads the spirit of community cohesion but also clearly demonstrates the strength of inter-sectoral coordination, creating a comprehensive program with the participation of many departments, branches, districts and people. This combination has highlighted the image of Ho Chi Minh City as an attractive, modern and unique destination during the year-end festival season.
Also on December 5, the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival officially opened with many attractive programs and activities until the end of December 2024. According to Lam Dong Tourism Association, nearly 60 units including tourist accommodation establishments, tourist attractions, service establishments... participated in projects, programs, products, "golden days", "golden hours" in response to the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival - 2024. According to the Department of Tourism of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, in the last days of 2024, the tourism industry of this province will organize the 2024 Ba Ria - Vung Tau Tourism Week. The theme of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Tourism Week is "LET'S GO!!! Ba Ria - Vung Tau". The week lasts from December 27 to 29 in Vung Tau city and Ho Tram, Xuyen Moc district. Coming to this event, visitors will have many new and interesting experiences from sports to cuisine, from music to tours. Some of the attractive events that will take place during the week include: sightseeing, "check-in" with hot air balloons suspended at an altitude of 15 - 25m at Bai Truoc, Vung Tau. In particular, visitors will have the opportunity to experience free flights on hot air balloons at an altitude of 30m.
Major cities prepare for New Year holiday
This year, people have a one-day New Year holiday, which is a relatively short period compared to the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday at the end of January. Therefore, tourists are not too interested in late December trips. Most domestic tourists will choose nearby, short-term destinations or visit and have fun in the place where they live.
The tourism industry in provinces and localities, especially key tourist cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang City, etc., has prepared many activities to serve people and tourists during the New Year holiday this year. As Ho Chi Minh City said, it has proposed to set off fireworks at 3 locations including the Saigon River Tunnel, Dam Sen Cultural Park and Van Phuc Urban Area on the occasion of New Year 2025. That is part of the document sent by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism regarding the request for permission to set off fireworks on the occasion of New Year 2025.
Of the three locations the city wants to shoot fireworks, there is a high-altitude point at the beginning of the Saigon River Tunnel (Thu Duc City), two low-altitude points are Dam Sen Cultural Park (District 11) and Van Phuc Urban Area (Thu Duc City). Fireworks will be launched at 0:00 on January 1, 2025 for 15 minutes, funded by socialized sources.
In early December, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism agreed with the proposal of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province to organize a low-altitude fireworks display at April 2 Square (Nha Trang City). The fireworks display will start at 0:00 on January 1, 2025 and last no more than 15 minutes, with 150 fireworks.
This year, the Danang Department of Tourism officially announced the Danang X'mas - New Year Festival 2025, promising to bring a bustling atmosphere to the coastal city during Christmas and New Year.
