The construction of multi-level boarding schools in border communes of Lao Cai province is a concrete implementation of the Party and State's major policy on comprehensive education development, with particular priority given to remote areas, ethnic minority regions, and border areas. This is an important component of the education development strategy linked to socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and building a peaceful, friendly, and stable border.

The synchronized and modern construction of border school facilities will create conditions for students in mountainous areas to study and live in a safe and adequate environment, thereby improving the quality of teaching and learning, reducing the dropout rate, and contributing to the training of local human resources for the region.

Building a school system, especially multi-level boarding schools in border communes, is a major policy decided by the Central Committee of the Communist Party, the Politburo , and the Government in the national education development strategy for the period 2025-2030, with a vision to 2045. In this program, Lao Cai province is tasked with implementing the construction of 9 multi-level boarding schools in border localities, including: Y Ty, A Mu Sung, Trinh Tuong, Bat Xat, Pha Long, Muong Khuong, Ban Lau, Si Ma Cai communes and Lao Cai ward. Four schools have been selected as pilot projects, striving for completion before August 30, 2026, including: Y Ty Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School; Pha Long Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School; A Mu Sung Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School; Muong Khuong Ethnic Boarding Primary and Secondary School, with a total investment of nearly 945 billion VND, features a comprehensive design encompassing classrooms, dormitories, multi-purpose rooms, a library, a canteen, and a modern technical infrastructure system.

For Lao Cai province, with its long border, complex terrain, and the difficult living conditions of people in many border communes, investing in the construction of multi-level boarding schools is of particular importance. These facilities are not only places for education but also a foundation for strengthening the people's trust in the Party's leadership and the State's concern; contributing to maintaining political stability, social order and security, and strengthening national unity in this border region of the Fatherland.

With the decisive involvement of all levels and sectors, the efforts of the construction units, and the consensus of the people, we are confident that the multi-level boarding school projects will be completed on schedule, ensuring quality, and put into use in the next school year.
