
Arabica coffee is the main crop of Muoi Noi commune. The whole commune currently has 2,448 hectares of coffee, accounting for more than 75% of the perennial crop area, with thousands of households participating in production, processing and harvesting. The output in 2024 will reach over 16,200 tons; each hectare will bring an average income of 70-90 million VND, becoming the main source of income, helping many households become well-off and rich.

In recent years, Muoi Noi commune has formed a chain linking coffee production - processing - consumption between farmers and cooperatives, purchasing and roasting enterprises. Enterprises and cooperatives play the role of "locomotives", supporting people with planting, care, harvesting and processing techniques, while expanding consumption market connections, increasing the value of Muoi Noi coffee beans.

Determining a sustainable direction, Muoi Noi commune is planning a high-quality coffee area on the existing 2,400 ha area, striving to expand the area to meet VietGAP, organic, 4C, UTZ standards, towards building the brand "Muoi Noi Coffee - Arabica Son La" associated with traceability, electronic stamps and geographical indications. Along with that, the locality encourages the development of deep processing, coffee experience tourism , forming homestay models, coffee picking - roasting - enjoying experience services, contributing to diversifying livelihoods and increasing income for people.

Speaking at the Arabica Coffee Picking Festival, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested Muoi Noi commune to continue to exploit its potential and natural advantages in coffee production, preliminary processing, processing and consumption; to increase income for coffee growers. At the same time, promote propaganda and mobilize people to apply high technology in coffee production activities associated with environmental protection and sustainable development.


Participating in the first Arabica Coffee Picking Festival in 2025 were 21 teams from villages in the commune. Each team consisted of 3 members, competing to pick coffee by hand with the correct technique, ensuring that ripe fruits were picked evenly, without green fruits, without broken branches or fallen leaves. The exciting competitive atmosphere and enthusiastic cheering from the locals and visitors created a joyful festival space, imbued with identity.

Within the framework of the event, there were also activities: exhibition of "Artistic creation from coffee fruits and beans" by schools in the commune; signing of commitments to produce and develop coffee trees according to 4C standards and commitment to not deforest or encroach on forestry land.

The first Arabica coffee picking festival is an opportunity to promote the image and affirm the Muoi Noi coffee brand; help coffee growers connect supply and demand, share experiences in sustainable coffee production, harvesting and processing. Thereby, contributing to increasing income and spreading the brand "Muoi Noi Coffee - Arabica Son La " to domestic and foreign markets.
