“Son La Tour” – Giving wings to Son La tourism to go far

In line with the digital transformation trend that is taking place strongly in all fields, Son La tourism industry is gradually catching up and innovating to develop sustainably and professionally. The birth of smart tourism software "Son La Tour" is expected to create a breakthrough in the digitization of tourism activities of the province, improving the experience for tourists and the management efficiency of functional agencies.

Launching smart tourism software "Son La Tour".

The smart tourism software “Son La Tour” is a product developed by the People's Committee of Son La province in collaboration with IGB Joint Stock Company and officially launched on July 8, 2025. This is a smart tourism ecosystem, built with the goal of connecting tourists, people and businesses on a digital platform. The project was implemented with the province's strong determination to bring Son La tourism to a new level in the technology era. This is also a practical activity to concretize Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

Mr. Tran Xuan Viet, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: The launch of “Son La Tour” is a specific and practical digital transformation mark, contributing to realizing the goal of building Son La tourism industry in a more modern, smart, friendly, professional and transparent direction. This is also the premise for Son La to form a digital tourism ecosystem, increase the ability to attract tourists and investors, and at the same time improve the operational efficiency of local authorities in the new period.

“Son La Tour” is built with a rich content system, notably the groups of digitalized content such as: Digitalizing tourist destinations and landmarks: Providing detailed information, images, videos about attractive destinations in the province. Digitalizing indigenous culture: Introducing unique cultural features of 12 ethnic groups, from customs, traditional festivals to performing arts. Traditional products: Promoting OCOP products, local specialties, helping tourists easily learn and shop. Resort tourism: Synthesizing information about accommodation facilities, from homestays to high-end hotels, with amenities and services. Culinary tourism destinations: Introducing restaurants, specialty eateries, helping tourists discover the unique flavors of Son La cuisine.

In particular, the software is integrated with many modern features, such as: Digital tourism map, helping tourists easily locate and plan their travel; managing destination data, supporting managers to update information and statistics on the number of visitors; reflecting tourist information, creating a two-way interaction channel between tourists and management agencies; analyzing user behavior with AI, helping to provide appropriate suggestions and services.

This will be an effective tool, a useful connection channel between tourists, people and businesses on the same platform; providing diverse information about tourism, supporting smart tourism management and being a direct connection channel between the government - people - tourism businesses.

Mr. Vu Xuan Nguyen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of IGB Joint Stock Company (IGB Group), shared: “Son La Tour” is not only a software but also an integrated technology solution, aiming to build a sustainable, smart tourism model, maximizing the value of local cultural and natural identity. The software has been promptly researched and built to meet the requirements of reorganizing the new government apparatus, making Son La province one of the first localities to pioneer the implementation of comprehensive digital transformation of tourism according to the 2-level local government model.

IGB Group is also the unit that successfully deployed the software "Moc Chau Tour" in 2023 and "Quynh Nhai Tour" in 2024, effectively supporting localities in the process of promoting tourism and connecting and attracting tourists. This is also the basis for creating a solid premise for the birth of "Son La Tour". Mr. Vu Xuan Nguyen also emphasized: IGB Group will commit to accompanying Son La in continuing to support the development of new features, updating system data and ensuring the platform always meets practical needs and keeps up with technology trends.

Initial assessment of the feasibility of using “Son La Tour” for the purpose of developing tourism services, Mr. Trang A Chu, owner of A Chu homestay, Hua Tat village, Van Ho commune, said: “Son La Tour” has an easy-to-use interface and modern features. We can also fully update on the application beautiful images and reviews of previous customers about the homestay. We can also easily update information about available rooms and other services, providing opportunities to reach more customers.

Ms. Nguyen Hong Nhung, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: I just had a trip to Moc Chau National Tourist Area and tried the “Son La Tour” application. I found the application very convenient, providing full information about attractions, restaurants, and hotels. The digital map is very easy to use, helping me find my way easily. I especially like the feature of suggesting sightseeing schedules, helping me save a lot of time planning.

Although it has just been launched, “Son La Tour” has recorded initial positive signals. According to preliminary statistics, in the first week of its launch, there were hundreds of downloads and installations of the application, hundreds of information searches and interactions on the platform. This shows the community’s interest and expectations for this smart tourism software. In the coming time, Son La tourism industry will continue to promote propaganda and guide people and tourists to use “Son La Tour” effectively. At the same time, there will be policies to support tourism businesses to actively participate in this digital ecosystem.
