He said that every year, about 75-80% of students at Hanoi University of Science and Technology want to work immediately after graduation. The rest can continue their studies at higher levels. For the working group, there are two important abilities that Hanoi University of Science and Technology students are very strong in: the ability to "bear the load" of work in a high-pressure environment and the ability to adapt and comply with business regulations such as labor safety and work culture.

“Regarding this, during the learning process, the school also creates conditions for students to experience a high-intensity and high-pressure environment for 6 months to 1 year, thereby helping them visualize more clearly the actual job after graduation,” said Mr. Thang.

On the contrary, Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Quyet Thang also assessed that the two skills that students are still weak in and need to improve are English ability and self-confidence in their own abilities.

“If these two things can be improved, students' ability to find jobs will be very good,” Mr. Thang said, citing school statistics that students with good English often receive salaries 20% higher than the rest of the group.

Also according to the survey results of 2024 graduates of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the average starting salary students receive is about 12-12.5 million VND/month.

The highest salary that new graduates receive is mainly in the group working in Japan, on average 23-25 ​​man (about 39-42 million VND), some students receive 28 man (nearly 48 million VND), not including allowances.

As a representative of a company that comes to "hunt" for potential students, Mr. Komatsu Shinobu, Factory Director of Onogawa Vietnam Co., Ltd., said that this company is willing to pay the same salary to Vietnamese graduates as Japanese people, about more than 21 man (more than 35 million VND) along with other allowances, as long as they meet the company's standards.

Having recruited a number of Vietnamese candidates, he assessed that the advantage of Vietnamese people is independent thinking, but sometimes their perseverance is not high. Therefore, the company must regularly discuss and encourage employees to stay with the business for a long time.

Meanwhile, Mr. Yasuo Hagimoto, Chairman of Tamagawa Seiki Joint Stock Company (Japan), said that in addition to qualified expertise, the company expects to find candidates with the ability to self-study, creative thinking, flexibility and high adaptability to the technical and technological environment that is changing every day.

“You need to self-study, self-develop and adapt based on the core knowledge you have been equipped with,” he said.

According to him, when the company sees the candidate's potential for self-development and maturity during the candidate's training process, the company is willing to invest in that potential factor.

Currently, this company pays new graduates 44-48 million VND/month, including allowances.
