The AI-generated photo is causing a stir on social media - Photo: THE TELEGRAM
According to The Telegraph (UK), these photos were posted by a famous football YouTuber in Madrid. This person introduced this as "global exclusive news", immediately attracting more than 5.8 million views on the X platform (formerly Twitter).
In shared images, Argentina captain Lionel Messi sat with FIFA President Gianni Infantino and representatives of host Qatar at a time believed to be before the 2022 World Cup in a closed room.
These photos are clearly malicious, giving rise to conspiracy theories and many accusations that FIFA and the 2022 World Cup organizing committee met to arrange for Messi and Argentina to win.
After much debate, the truth behind these photos has finally been revealed. They are completely fake. They are all created by artificial intelligence (AI).
A detailed analysis revealed obvious signs of tampering, with distorted hands, skewed lighting, disproportionate body proportions, and inconsistent colors, common flaws in AI-generated images.
This incident once again shows the danger of spreading fake images generated by AI, especially when it comes to influential figures like Messi - where just one false image can be enough to create a global fever.
