Subaru has just introduced a new electric SUV that will join the current lineup of Solterra and Trailseeker. Called the Subaru Uncharted 2026, it is a twin version of the Toyota C-HR+. Uncharted is being launched first in the US market and will become Subaru's smallest electric SUV when it goes on sale in early 2026. Customers will have three versions to choose from, including Premium FWD, Sport and GT.
As a "twin" model with the Toyota C-HR+, the Subaru Uncharted is also developed on the same e-TNGA chassis platform and shares many body parts. However, Subaru has applied some adjustments to differentiate it from the Toyota model. When placing the two cars side by side, you can see that the front of the Subaru Uncharted has more black trim details, including the area where the Pleiades star logo is located. The LED daytime running lights located above the main headlights also have a different design, using a dotted pattern instead of the C-shaped shape like the Toyota C-HR+. The same pattern is also applied to the taillights, while the strip of lights across the rear hatch has been removed. The rear bumper of the car stands out with contrasting color cladding.
The same “same but different” approach is also applied to the interior, with much of the Subaru Uncharted’s interior layout being similar to the Toyota C-HR+. However, the steering wheel is taken from Subaru’s two other electric vehicles, the Solterra and Trailseeker. Highlights of this electric SUV include 18-inch or 20-inch wheels, a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a panoramic sunroof, ambient interior lighting, two wireless charging trays, and optional water-resistant StarTex upholstery. All three versions of the Subaru Uncharted use a 74.7 kWh lithium-ion battery. The front-wheel drive Premium FWD version has a maximum capacity of 221 horsepower and an estimated operating range of up to 483 km. Meanwhile, the Sport and GT versions are equipped with two electric motors, so they have AWD all-wheel drive.
The total output of these two versions reaches 338 horsepower while the operating range is slightly reduced to 467 km. In return, the two versions Sport and GT are capable of accelerating from 0-96 km/h in under 5 seconds and are equipped with the Subaru X-Mode off-road driving system. The Subaru Uncharted uses the North American Charging Standards (NACS) port, allowing it to be charged at Tesla Supercharger stations. According to Subaru, charging from 10% to 80% of the battery takes about 30 minutes with a 150 kW DC charger. The car also supports AC slow charging at 11 kW. The price of the Subaru Uncharted has not been announced yet.
