The second edition, published in 1995, comprised 12 volumes with over 2,500 works. In the third edition in 2011, nearly 800 new works were added, collected from Party and State archives at the central and local levels, as well as overseas archives, and were arranged into 15 volumes with a total of approximately 3,300 works. Through each reprint, the book has been continuously revised and supplemented to achieve the highest level of completeness.
