13 students in Malaysia died
In the early morning of June 9, a bus carrying 42 students from the Sultan Idris University of Education (UPSI) and six others crashed into a car on a road near the town of Gerik, Perak state, northern Malaysia. According to Malaysian media, 13 students died at the scene, the bus driver died after being taken to hospital and dozens of others were injured. This is considered the most serious accident in Malaysia in the past 10 years.

The match between Malaysia and Vietnam, which took place at 8pm on June 10, in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, was not affected by the accident. Therefore, both teams remained focused and prepared carefully to achieve good results at Bukit Jalil Stadium.
