The aforementioned Javan pangolins were victims of illegal trafficking, rescued by authorities, and cared for. After a period of recovery, they were released back into the wild.
According to Save Vietnam's Wildlife, before being "returned home," these Javan pangolins underwent a long and arduous journey, including health checkups, treatment of injuries and illnesses, monitoring of their eating habits, ensuring appropriate nutrition, and observing their natural reflexes such as digging burrows, curling up for defense, or searching for food... in a nurturing environment close to nature, helping the Javan pangolins gradually recover their natural behaviors.

After a long period of monitoring and care, all individuals met the health, physical condition, and natural instinct standards to be reintegrated into the wild.
This reintroduction of the Javan pangolin is not only aimed at conserving a rare and endangered species, but also serves as a reminder of humanity's responsibility in preserving nature and habitats for wildlife. The Javan pangolin is listed as critically endangered in the Red List (International Union for Conservation of Nature).
