Driver who fled causing a series of accidents in Hanoi tested positive for drugs

On the evening of March 15, Hai Ba Trung District Police ( Hanoi ) said that the agency is working with the pickup truck driver who fled and caused a series of accidents to clarify and handle the case according to regulations.

Initially, the police identified the driver as Le Tien Dung (37 years old, residing in Y Yen district, Nam Dinh ). After checking, driver Dung did not violate the alcohol concentration but tested positive for drugs.

Driver Le Tien Dung crashed into a police car and swerved to escape.

Previously, at around 2:10 p.m. on March 15, Dung was driving a Ford Ranger pickup truck with license plate 29C - 856.42 parked in front of house number 93 Truong Dinh (Truong Dinh Ward, Hai Ba Trung District) when he was checked by the police.

When the police asked for his papers, Dung did not comply but got in his car, started the engine, crashed into the police car and fled to Giai Phong Street, turned onto Linh Dam, then turned onto Nguyen Xien Street, and onto the elevated Ring Road 3.

Driver Le Tien Dung drove straight into the pursuer to escape.

While running away, Dung was chased by many people, blocking the front of the car but did not stop but instead stepped on the gas and drove away.

Le Tien Dung was held back by people on the elevated Ring Road 3.

After colliding with many vehicles, Dung ran to the elevated Ring Road 3 opposite the Hanoi People's Court and collided with a truck in the same direction, unable to move further. Those chasing him detained Dung and informed the police.
