The hearts and contributions of workers in cash and goods have helped people in flood-affected areas overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.

Workers actively responded

After more than a week of launching a fundraising campaign to support people in the Central Highlands provinces affected by floods, causing great damage to people and property, many employees of Grand Gain Footwear Manufacturing Company Limited (Dong Xoai II Industrial Park, Dong Xoai Ward) have actively responded. Many employees at the company not only donated money but also donated in kind. The solidarity and cooperation of the labor collective demonstrates a noble gesture and a spirit of sharing with the people.

Ms. Thai Thi Huyen, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Grand Gain Footwear Manufacturing Company Limited, said: Promoting the tradition of solidarity, mutual love and support for the Central region, the entire company's employees have donated over 116 million VND. In addition, many employees voluntarily contributed goods including rice, instant noodles, drinking water, clothes, medicine, etc. "The practical spiritual and material support from the labor collective and the social community at this time is a great motivation to help people in storm and flood areas stay strong, quickly stabilize their lives and restore production" - Ms. Huyen shared.

With the spirit of "mutual love and support", joining hands to support people in flood-affected areas, recently, the Trade Union of Cibao Company Limited (Binh Loc Ward, Dong Nai Province) donated nearly 165 million VND to support people affected by floods to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province. All of this money was contributed by union members and employees of the company, showing their sharing, contributing to helping people in flood-affected areas overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

Ms. Le Thi Ha, a worker at Cibao Co., Ltd., shared: Through the media, seeing the people in the Central region severely affected by the flood, she felt very sad. Therefore, when the Union launched the campaign, she and many workers contributed to the best of their ability. "Although each person only contributed a small part, it was a heart wanting to share the difficulties with the people. Hopefully, the money donated by the company's employees will help families overcome difficulties soon and stabilize their lives," Ms. Ha confided.

Bring love to flood victims

At many enterprises with a large number of workers in Dong Nai province, emergency donation programs were implemented during lunch breaks or after work shifts. Each person contributed a little: some contributed a few cans of milk, a pack of noodles, some donated a day's salary, some volunteered to sort relief goods for hours... The boxes containing donated goods quickly filled up, clearly showing the sharing hearts of thousands of workers.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, a worker at Pou Chen Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Bien Hoa Ward, Dong Nai Province) shared: “Although our workers' lives are still difficult, compared to the losses that people in the flood-affected areas are experiencing, it is nothing. When the Union launched the fundraising campaign, my colleagues and I all participated wholeheartedly. Each person contributes a little, but together they will become a large source of support, hoping to help people overcome difficulties.” That simple, sincere saying partly shows that the spirit of compassion has become a familiar way of thinking of many Dong Nai workers when their fellow countrymen are in difficulty and need support.

At large companies such as Changshin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Tan Trieu Ward, Dong Nai Province), more than 40,000 workers turned to the flood victims and actively raised over 1.6 billion VND. On December 10, the company's Trade Union coordinated with the Red Cross Society of Dong Nai Province to travel to the South Central provinces to provide direct support to people affected by natural disasters. The workers of TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company (Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, Tran Bien Ward, Dong Nai Province) also joined hands to contribute over 1.1 billion VND...

Not only stopping at material contributions, the Trade Unions of enterprises participating in the Red Cross delegations of Dong Nai province directly went to the flood areas to support and distribute necessities to the needy people. The presence of the Trade Union and Dong Nai workers brought warmth and strength to the people in the flood areas to overcome difficulties.

Mr. Nguyen Tan Phap, Chairman of the Trade Union of Pou Chen Vietnam Co., Ltd., said: On December 4, the Trade Union represented all the staff and workers of the company to organize food trucks full of love to the South Central provinces to support people affected by floods. The support of the workers not only shows the spirit of "mutual love and support" - a fine tradition of the Vietnamese people, but also shows that humanity is always present in the most difficult times.

“In each workshop, each production line, the workers work with their hands but their hearts are always warm. The workers’ hearts, though simple but sincere, have contributed to lighting up the faith and hope of the people in the disaster area. That is the most beautiful expression of solidarity, a sustainable human value” - Mr. Nguyen Tan Phap shared.

Although income is still modest and life is still difficult, the spirit of participation and contribution of Dong Nai workers to support flood victims in recent times has spread a beautiful image of the spirit of sharing and great national unity.
