A $175 check signed by the Apple founder fetched $16,500 and could go for more than $25,000 in an upcoming online auction.

RR Auctions is offering lot 192 of its collection of memorabilia signed by important figures in the fields of science and technology. The lot includes a check from Apple Computer, signed by founder Steve Jobs and dated July 8, 1976, the year the company was founded.

Check 168 was made payable to "Crampton, Remke & Miller, INC." for $175 . The reverse contains the relevant stamps and payment processing notes. The auctioneer states the item is in "good to very good condition" and is certified by PSA/DNA.

The auction will end on May 11. At this time, the highest bid for the check signed by Steve Jobs is $16,500 . The auction house estimates the final figure will exceed $25,000 .

RR Auctions has previously held other auctions involving items bearing the Apple founder’s stamp. A hand-numbered Apple-1 and a letter signed by him were sold in December 2022. Similar items were also sold in February 2023.

In March 2023, a certificate signed by Steve Jobs was put up for sale on Moments in Time, a website specializing in buying and selling rare items. Although the website only discloses the price upon contact, TMZ reported that the specific selling price for the certificate was $95,000 .

Unlike other Apple-related products or souvenirs, certificates with Jobs' signature are not auctioned off; instead, the distributor sets a fixed price for those who want to own them.

The first issue of Macworld magazine, signed by Jobs and Steve Wozniak, was auctioned for $201,021 . Meanwhile, the Macintosh 128K circuit board was signed by Jobs and Jef Raskin, the creator of the Macintosh.
