On the afternoon of November 13, continuing the 27th thematic session, the 16th Hanoi People's Council elected Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung as the new Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.

Hanoi's success is measured by people's satisfaction.

In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman of Hanoi Nguyen Duc Trung thanked the delegates of the Hanoi People's Council for their trust and election to him to hold the important position of head of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

With the assigned responsibility, Mr. Trung affirmed that he and the City People's Committee will conduct in-depth research, discuss carefully, and direct decisively, with the spirit of dedication, dedication, innovation, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility, for the common benefit of Hanoi.

Targeting growth of over 11% in the next term

According to the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, in the immediate future, Hanoi will strive to achieve the highest level of socio -economic development goals and targets for 2025, especially the GRDP growth target of over 8%.

The Hanoi People's Committee will focus on 5 priority areas in the coming time. Accordingly, it will perfect the model and improve the operational efficiency of the 2-level local government.

Promote decentralization, delegation of authority, and promote the development-creating function of local governments in conjunction with streamlining administrative procedures and digital transformation. Take the satisfaction of people and businesses as a measure for all activities.

Hanoi also aims to create institutional breakthroughs to achieve the growth target of over 11% in the next term based on the driving force of science and technology development, innovation and comprehensive digital transformation, according to Mr. Trung.

Mr. Trung said that after taking up the task, he and the Hanoi People's Committee will focus on handling the capital's four bottlenecks: traffic congestion; urban order, discipline and sanitation; environmental pollution; and flooding.

The new Chairman of Hanoi also aims to build a modern governance model with an honest, professional, responsible, and creative administrative apparatus, putting people at the center of all policies.

At the same time, improve the capacity, ethics, discipline, order and dedication of the team of cadres, civil servants and public employees; promote the responsibility of leaders in performing their duties.

"To turn the goal of developing Hanoi into reality comes not only from the determination of the City People's Committee, but also thanks to the consensus of the entire political system and each citizen of the capital.

In the coming time, I hope to continue to receive the attention and direction of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the National Assembly, the Government, the Prime Minister, the ministries, departments and central branches; and the effective coordination of provinces and cities across the country..." - Mr. Trung expressed.
