The total number of sick and culled pigs is 1,827, with a destroyed weight of nearly 114 tons. Currently, there are 12 communes and wards (Vinh Kim, Long Hiep, Cau Ngang, Nhi Truong, Quoi Dien, Long Ho, Hiep My, Ngu Lac, My Long, Tra Cu, Luu Nghiep Anh and Dong Thanh ward) where the epidemic has occurred for less than 21 days, of which 4 communes have declared the epidemic (Nhi Truong, Cau Ngang, Vinh Kim, Long Hiep).

ASF is spreading rapidly in the area, mainly because livestock farmers have not fully implemented biosecurity measures, vaccines are limited to the target population, pathogens remain in the environment, combined with unusual weather, creating conditions for the disease to continue to arise and spread.

To control ASF, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has proposed supporting vaccines and chemicals for epidemic and buffer zones. Synchronous measures include: coordinating veterinary management, immediately destroying sick or positive pigs, and providing guidance on cleaning and disinfecting barns...
