Strengthening market monitoring, inspection and control

(LĐ online) - On May 7, Lam Dong Department of Health directed the provincial Department of Food Safety and Hygiene, the provincial Center for Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Testing and the Health Departments of districts and cities to strengthen market supervision, inspection and control.

In order to promptly prevent and combat the trading of counterfeit drugs, counterfeit health protection foods that have been discovered and goods of unknown origin and poor quality in the area, the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Health requests the Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Department to strengthen inspection and supervision of food security and safety; resolutely combat, prevent and strictly handle organizations, individuals, production and business establishments that violate food safety regulations. Carry out post-inspection of self-declaration of products/registration of product declaration, production, business, import, advertising, sampling and testing of products/groups of products in Appendix II of Decree No. 15/2018/ND-CP dated February 2, 2018 of the Government.

Develop a post-inspection plan for food production and trading establishments in the area. Focus on controlling food safety assurance, post-inspection of compliance with food safety regulations for establishments producing, trading, importing, advertising health protection foods (on newspapers, radio and internet); establishments producing, trading medical nutritional foods, foods for special diets; small establishments producing, trading, importing, advertising. At the same time, strengthen sampling to check the quality of goods in areas where inspection and supervision have been carried out.

The Center for Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Testing strengthens the sampling and monitoring of drug quality in the area; promptly reports cases of detecting counterfeit drugs, drugs of unknown origin, and poor quality drugs (if any).

Perform rapid testing of food samples

The Health Departments of districts and cities shall advise the People's Committees of districts and cities to direct local authorities to strengthen inspection and supervision of law enforcement by drug and health food businesses in the area, recall detected counterfeit drugs and health food, handle and strictly punish (or propose to punish) violations in accordance with regulations.

During the inspection and supervision process, it is necessary to combine propaganda and dissemination work to business establishments in the area to only trade, distribute and use drugs and health protection foods that have been licensed for circulation; strictly prohibit the trading of fake drugs, fake health protection foods, and goods of unknown origin.
