Strengthening the effectiveness of state management of ethnic and religious affairs

(DN) - On the afternoon of November 11, Inspection Team No. 2 of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Dong Nai province, led by Deputy Director Nguyen Van Khang, had a working session with the People's Committee of Thanh Son commune on the results of organizing and implementing state management in the field of ethnicity and religion in 2025, and at the same time orienting key tasks in 2026.

According to the report of Thanh Son Commune People's Committee, the whole commune currently has more than 32,800 people, of which 25.5% are ethnic minorities with 23 ethnic groups; 8 hamlets are in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, there are no more particularly difficult hamlets. The people's lives continue to improve, the poverty rate has decreased to 149 households, of which 32 are ethnic minority households.

Regarding religion, the commune has 10 religious establishments with more than 7,300 followers, operating in accordance with regulations, strictly complying with the Party's policies and the State's laws. Propaganda and dissemination of laws, grasping the situation, promptly handling arising issues are carried out regularly, contributing to maintaining security and order, consolidating the great national unity bloc.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Nguyen Van Khang acknowledged the proactiveness and seriousness of Thanh Son commune in implementing ethnic and religious policies, especially the implementation of Decree 124/2025/ND-CP of the Government on decentralization and delegation in this field. At the same time, he requested the commune to continue reviewing and updating legal documents, strengthening propaganda, grasping the situation of ethnic minority and religious areas; speeding up the disbursement of the National Target Program on socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, ensuring the right subjects, efficiency, publicity and transparency.

Besides the achieved results, the inspection team also pointed out some limitations that need to be overcome such as: limited investment resources; propaganda work is not really in-depth, effectiveness is not uniform...

Representative of Thanh Son Commune People's Committee, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee Tran Phong Lan proposed that the province and the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions continue to pay attention to supporting funding for implementing national target programs, eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses; at the same time, strengthen coordination in managing construction order at religious establishments and support localities in sustainable poverty reduction and preserving national cultural identity.

The inspection team assessed that Thanh Son commune has done a good job in state management of ethnicity and religion, contributing to political stability, strengthening people's trust, and promoting socio-economic development in the area.
