Strengthen support to promote production, export of forest products and check forest product records

Recently, the Department of Forestry and Forest Protection issued Document No. 2283/LNKL_DT requesting the Department of Agriculture and Environment of provinces and cities to increase support to promote production and export of forest products and check forest product records.

In recent times, the production, processing and export of wood and wood products have grown strongly, contributing to job creation and economic development in many localities. However, through monitoring and understanding the situation, in some localities, the management and traceability of forest products for raw materials from peeled wood, plywood, particle board and pellet production have not been regularly implemented in accordance with regulations, with the risk of fraud of goods origin, especially the use of wood materials illegally exploited from natural forests.

To strengthen the management, inspection and traceability of forest products, the Department of Forestry and Forestry requires the Department of Agriculture and Environment of provinces and cities to regularly grasp the production, business and import-export situation of forest products of enterprises in the area to promptly remove difficulties, promote production and increase forest product export growth in the new situation.

Direct local Forest Protection agencies to coordinate with relevant agencies to strengthen inspection of compliance with legal regulations on management and traceability of forest products at establishments processing, trading, and exporting peeled wood, plywood, particle board, and pellets, especially the activities of establishing and recording the Forest Product Import and Export Logbook in accordance with the provisions of Circular No. 26/2025/TT-BNNMT dated June 24, 2025 of the Minister of Agriculture and Environment regulating forest product management; handling of forest products and aquatic products that are assets with established ownership rights of the entire people.

At the same time, organize inspection and strictly manage establishments processing and producing peeled wood, plywood, particle board, and pellets in the use of raw wood for processing; strictly handle organizations and individuals who commit fraud regarding the origin of goods and the source of raw wood for the production of the above-mentioned items./.
