During his visit to Yunnan Province, China, to attend the opening ceremony of the 7th China-South Asia Expo and the 27th Kunming Import and Export Fair, on the afternoon of August 15, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang received comrade Vuong Ninh, Secretary of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always attaches importance to and is ready to support and create conditions to strengthen friendly cooperation between localities of the two countries, including border localities of Vietnam with Yunnan province.
The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that Yunnan Province closely coordinate with Vietnamese ministries, sectors and localities to concretize the common perception of the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and the two countries; effectively implement existing cooperation mechanisms and frameworks; strive to increase trade turnover between Vietnamese localities and Yunnan Province to 5 billion USD in the next few years; strengthen connectivity of railway and road infrastructure; promote tourism cooperation, exchanges, and sharing of experiences in hunger eradication, poverty reduction and sustainable development. The Deputy Prime Minister also hoped that the two sides would closely coordinate in border management and protection according to the three documents on land borders and related agreements, and continue to build a peaceful and stable border for the people of the two countries to settle down and make a living.
Yunnan Provincial Party Committee Secretary Wang Ning affirmed that Yunnan attaches importance to the friendly and cooperative relationship with Vietnam; is willing to cooperate closely with Vietnam in areas such as cadre training, hunger eradication, poverty reduction, environmental protection, sustainable development; and promote cooperation in the fields of health, culture, education, and tourism, contributing to consolidating the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Vietnam.
