
On the afternoon of November 11, Comrade Le Ngoc Chau, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Committee, received and worked with Ms. Aukje de Vries, Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands, and a business delegation on promoting investment and development cooperation in the fields of seaports and logistics.
Also working were Mr. Kees van Baar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Vietnam; Comrade Le Trung Kien, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, Head of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board; representatives of leaders of relevant departments, branches, units and the Hai Phong Logistics Association.

Welcoming the delegation to visit and work in Hai Phong , Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau affirmed that the Netherlands is one of the important European partners of Vietnam and Hai Phong city.
Up to now, there have been 16 Dutch foreign direct investment projects in Hai Phong with a total capital of 361 million USD, ranking 12th in terms of number of projects and 11th in terms of foreign investment capital in Hai Phong. The city has also welcomed and participated in many activities organized by the Dutch Government , the Dutch Embassy, and the Dutch Business Association in Vietnam and Hai Phong.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau believes that the working trip of Minister Aukje de Vries and the Dutch business delegation will contribute to promoting investment cooperation, opening up specific and effective projects, especially in the field of seaport development and logistics; further deepening the good cooperative relationship between Hai Phong city and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
At the meeting, the delegation was introduced to the potentials, strengths, business investment environment and important information on investment attraction orientation of Hai Phong city in the coming time.
Representatives of Dutch corporations and enterprises highly appreciated Hai Phong's strategic location, the city's economic potential after the merger, with a deep-water seaport system, dynamically developing industrial parks and economic zones, and open and transparent investment attraction policies. The Netherlands wishes to cooperate long-term with Hai Phong city in areas of mutual strength such as seaports, logistics, supply chain solutions in dredging and maritime services, coastal land reclamation and expansion, seaport construction, etc.

Thanking the city leaders for their warm welcome, Ms. Aukje de Vries, Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation of the Netherlands, affirmed that Vietnam in general and Hai Phong in particular are attractive investment destinations for Dutch enterprises, especially in the fields of logistics, seaports, infrastructure development... She hopes that the two sides will increase exchanges, connect businesses, and share experiences in planning and developing seaports, logistics systems, and many other fields in the future.
The two sides agreed that in the coming time, they will maintain a regular information exchange mechanism and promote the development of a number of specific cooperation programs.
