To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China, on September 16, in Hanoi, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam) in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism of Shaanxi (China), the Chinese Cultural Center in Hanoi organized a program of cultural exchange and tourism introduction of Shaanxi.
Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai said Vietnam and China have a long-standing traditional friendship with many similarities in history, culture and people.
Over the years, tourism cooperation between the two countries has always been maintained and strongly developed on the basis of a solid legal foundation with many Agreements and Cooperation Plans. This is an important basis for the two countries to promote cooperation and attract tourists from each other.
The Vietnamese tourism industry attaches great importance to the Chinese tourist market and the Chinese side also highly values the Vietnamese tourist source. With the concept that tourism is not only a trip and an experience, but more importantly, it is for the people of the two countries to better understand each other's lives and people in order to contribute to promoting the long-standing traditional friendship between the two peoples. Every year, the two sides regularly organize cultural exchange programs, introduce and promote tourism.
Referring to many famous tourist destinations in Shaanxi (China), Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai shared that Vietnam also has many places with beautiful nature and unique cultural heritage, very similar to Shaanxi, such as Hue - the historical capital, where the system of royal relics, mausoleums and unique cultural heritage is preserved or Ninh Binh - the land of the ancient capital Hoa Lu associated with the famous Trang An scenic complex. It is the similarity in culture and history that has promoted the need for people of the two countries to travel and visit each other.
According to statistics, Vietnam welcomes about 4-5 million Chinese visitors every year. In the first 8 months of 2025, Vietnam welcomed more than 3.5 million Chinese visitors.
On the other hand, Vietnamese people also choose Chinese destinations to experience and learn about history, culture and people.
Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai expects the number of tourists from both countries to increase in the coming time, not just stopping at the current number.
Ms. Liu Hai Vinh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Shaanxi Province (China) affirmed that Vietnam and China are two friendly neighboring countries, the people of the two countries regularly exchange culture and tourism cooperation is increasingly close.

Vietnam not only has a long history and culture, but also has unique natural landscapes and folk customs, becoming a dream tourist destination for Chinese tourists with famous destinations such as Ha Long Bay, Hoi An Ancient Town, Hue Imperial City, Ho Chi Minh City.
Introducing famous tourist destinations in Shaanxi, Ms. Liu Hairong invited Vietnamese tourism partners to attend the 2026 Xi'an Silk Road International Tourism Fair and expressed her hope that tourism businesses on both sides would strengthen cooperation, jointly develop unique products, and strongly promote bilateral tourism exchanges.
As one of the important cradles of Chinese civilization, Shaanxi is a fascinating land where history and modernity brilliantly intersect, culture and ecology coexist harmoniously. It was once the capital of 13 dynasties, notably the Tang Dynasty, and was the starting point of the ancient Silk Road, possessing many important archaeological, cultural and religious heritages, closely associated with Buddhism and Taoism.
Some typical destinations include Terracotta Army - UNESCO World Heritage, known as the "8th wonder"; Xi'an Ancient City, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum; Mount Huashan.
Mr. Hinh Cuu Cuong, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, said that in recent years, cultural and tourism cooperation between the two countries has become increasingly close, especially local cultural and tourism cooperation has developed strongly, becoming an important bridge in cultural exchange between the two countries.
Mr. Hinh Cuu Cuong hopes that both sides will join efforts to promote China-Vietnam cultural and tourism cooperation and exchanges to new heights, and play a positive and constructive role in strengthening the friendship between the two peoples.
At the meeting, delegates and guests visited the Shaanxi tourism photo exhibition, the display area of intangible cultural products and cultural creations to better understand the cultural-tourism resources as well as the innovative achievements in the field of cultural creation of the province.
Tourism businesses on both sides have signed cooperation agreements to coordinate, enhance information exchange, support tourists, and contribute to promoting and attracting bilateral tourists./.
