On the afternoon of November 28, at the Octagon House (Ly Thai To flower garden), the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment in coordination with the Department of Quality, Processing and Market Development ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ) organized an event to promote the consumption of high-quality agricultural products, expand export markets and increase the value of agricultural products in the capital.
The event attracted more than 80 businesses in the capital that are interested in bringing agricultural products to conquer markets that require strict standards, while enhancing the value of Vietnamese agricultural products.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment Ta Van Tuong emphasized that the capital is not only an administrative center but also possesses a large-scale agricultural sector with about 250 enterprises producing, processing and exporting agricultural products. Enterprises are connecting to consume regional specialties, serving both domestic and export markets. Mr. Tuong said that the State's policies are supporting the small and medium-sized enterprise community, creating the premise for developing a high-quality agricultural product supply chain.

Hanoi is focusing on building concentrated raw material areas, strictly managing the entire value chain from collection, preservation, processing to export. The 3-party cooperation model of the State - enterprises - farmers is being implemented, helping the State create a legal environment and support development, enterprises invest and consume products, and farmers produce according to high-quality processes.
The application of digital technology, artificial intelligence, traceability systems and electronic logs is also promoted, improving transparency and control of the entire production and export process.
At the conference, representatives of Japanese and Korean enterprises shared market information, opening up opportunities for Hanoi enterprises to grasp and adjust production. Representative of the Vietnam Trade Office in Japan, Ms. Pham Thi Minh Ha, said that many Vietnamese agricultural products such as shrimp, tra fish, coffee, vegetables, fruits (mango, lychee, longan) and rice (ST25, Japonica) have deeply accessed the Japanese market and are trusted and chosen by consumers. The community of more than 600,000 Vietnamese people living in Japan also contributes to promoting the consumption of Vietnamese products.
Typical enterprises of Hanoi that have been exporting to Japan and Korea include: Duong Kien Production, Trade and Import-Export Company Limited with wood ear and shiitake mushrooms; Agricultural Development and Environmental Consulting Company Limited with frozen chili; Japan Technology Development and Import-Export Company Limited with black garlic; Minh Tien Group with coffee.
Despite many positive results, some businesses still face difficulties maintaining stable quality, especially for products requiring strict safety standards such as durian, dragon fruit and fresh vegetables.
To overcome this, Hanoi has implemented synchronous solutions: enhancing information, promotion, and supporting businesses to grasp food safety regulations and free trade agreements; building standard raw material areas; promoting the export of deeply processed products that meet international standards on quality, traceability, social responsibility, and environment.
Trade connection activities, organizing study groups, and promoting OCOP products to international markets have also been promoted. In 2024, Hanoi's agricultural and forestry export turnover will reach over 2 billion USD, surpassing this milestone for the first time.
