Strengthening disease prevention and response to natural disasters

QNgTV- The Ministry of Health has just sent an official dispatch to the Department of Health of provinces and cities regarding strengthening disease prevention and control in the context of complicated natural disasters, especially storms, floods and prolonged inundation.

Accordingly, localities must review and develop response plans appropriate to the actual situation; strengthen forces and assign specific responsibilities according to the "four on-the-spot" motto. At the same time, proactively monitor, detect early and promptly handle disease risks to prevent widespread outbreaks.

Localities need to ensure environmental sanitation, provide clean water, organize professional training for medical staff on epidemic treatment, disinfection, and insect extermination; maintain mobile anti-epidemic teams ready to support lower levels when necessary.

The Ministry of Health also requested to strengthen propaganda and guide people to practice personal hygiene, food safety, water and environmental treatment after natural disasters; proactively stockpile medicines, chemicals, vaccines, especially tetanus serum, to ensure readiness to respond in all situations.
