Strengthening management of chemical activities, ensuring fire prevention and fighting safety

Through review, currently, in Tay Ninh province, there are no warehouses, petroleum and gas processing facilities or chemical production and trading facilities that are dangerous to fire and explosion in residential areas or crowded places.

Provincial police and forces practice firefighting and rescue with the assumption of a fire at a chemical warehouse in an industrial park.

This is a positive result in ensuring chemical safety and fire prevention and fighting in the locality.

Currently, Tay Ninh province has 110 chemical production and trading establishments that have been granted Certificates of eligibility to operate according to regulations by the Department of Industry and Trade.

In addition, there are about 700 facilities that store and use chemicals to serve the production of other goods, mainly in the fields of industry, processing, construction, etc.

To ensure safety, operate in accordance with regulations and improve management, the Department of Industry and Trade proposed that the Provincial People's Committee assign the department to coordinate with sectors and localities to organize field surveys at chemical enterprises.

On that basis, the Department proposed that the Provincial People's Committee issue specific regulations on safety distances for chemical works, when the Ministry of Industry and Trade promulgates technical regulations on safety distances according to the Law on Chemicals No. 69/2025/QH15, effective from January 1, 2026.

At the same time, it is proposed to assign the Department of Industry and Trade to build a database of enterprises with chemical activities in the province (including the current status and regulations for newly established establishments) to manage and ensure safety in chemical activities./.
