Strengthening state management of accommodation establishments

DNO - On the afternoon of November 14, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a seminar on Improving the effectiveness of state management in the tourism sector with the participation of departments, branches and People's Committees of communes and wards in the area.

According to the report, the city currently has 2,307 tourist accommodation establishments with 66,171 rooms, which poses many challenges for the relevant authorities in management.

At the seminar, localities proposed to issue regulations suitable to the new situation, focusing on developing tourism human resources to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of state management when implementing the 2-level local government model.

In order to improve the quality of tourism services in 2026, relevant departments and branches exchanged and discussed the coordination to strengthen the management, inspection and supervision of accommodation establishments, especially new accommodation establishments such as tourist campsites, accommodation models combining many types in one tourist accommodation establishment and apartments, villas, houses with rooms for tourists to rent (homestay).

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism authorizes the People's Committees of wards and communes to manage state accommodation establishments with 20 rooms or less; continues to guide and implement price declaration for the People's Committees of wards and communes according to the decentralization in Decree No. 85/2024/ND-CP dated July 10, 2024 of the Government ; authorizes the People's Committees of wards and communes to manage state accommodation establishments with 20 rooms or less.
