Strengthening state management of culture, sports and tourism

On the morning of July 17, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a conference in person and online to review the work of the first 6 months of the year; deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2025, chaired by Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung. Attending at the Quang Tri province bridge were representatives of leaders of relevant departments and branches.

The Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son and Kiep Bac relic and landscape complexes became World Cultural Heritages; Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park and Hin Nam No National Park were recognized as Transboundary Natural Heritages, which are two notable events in the report of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the first 6 months of 2025. Along with that, tourism has had impressive growth, with total revenue from tourists estimated at about 518 trillion VND, the total number of international visitors reaching more than 10.6 million, an increase of 20.7% over the same period. Activities to preserve and promote cultural heritage have been effectively implemented; press, communication and publishing have had many positive changes; many activities, programs and cooperation documents on culture, sports and tourism have been signed, changing the mindset from "meeting and exchanging" to "genuine cooperation".

At the conference, delegates discussed the results and difficulties in building and perfecting the legal system of the Culture - Sports and Tourism sector, arranging and streamlining the organizational apparatus, implementing decentralization and defining authority when organizing two-level local government.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung emphasized: The overall picture of the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector in recent times has helped Party committees at all levels and the People to have a more complete and profound understanding of the spirit of "Culture is the foundation - Information is the conduit - Sports is the strength - Tourism is the connecting bridge". Those achievements are the result of the patience, perseverance and responsibility of those who practice and manage culture, so that culture is placed in the right position, as the foundation for the sustainable development of the country.

To better keep pace and focus on the key points set by the Party and the State, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the entire sector to strengthen state management and policy communication in the spirit of "Ministry guides - Department accompanies - For the common mission"; prioritize digitizing industry data; promote tourism; and spread cultural and artistic forms. The Culture, Sports and Tourism sector continues to make efforts, using the language of culture, art and sports, to foster love for the country and confidently enter a new era for the nation.

On this occasion, 11 collectives were honored to receive emulation flags from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for their outstanding achievements in 2024.
