Young people in Sam Son ward launched a campaign to clean up the environment in the beach area.
To leave a lasting impression on tourists as a bright, green, clean, beautiful, and civilized destination, the Sam Son ward authorities, tourism workers, and local people always prioritize environmental protection. This includes actively cleaning up and collecting waste along Ho Xuan Huong road and educating and encouraging tourists to strictly adhere to environmental regulations to maintain the beach's cleanliness. Furthermore, convenient waste bins have been installed along main roads and beaches for easy waste collection. Accommodation establishments, restaurants, and eateries are also required to sign environmental protection commitments, implement waste sorting at source, and collect waste at the designated times and locations. In particular, local authorities actively coordinate with specialized agencies to organize regular and unscheduled inspections of wastewater treatment systems at business establishments, and resolutely handle cases of discharging untreated wastewater into the environment.
Furthermore, during the peak summer tourist season when the number of visitors to Sam Son increases significantly, the Sam Son Urban Environment and Tourism Services Joint Stock Company – a key unit in waste collection – has increased its workforce and resources to continuously collect and clean up the environment along the coastal roads, ensuring a clean, airy, and safe environment. At the same time, public areas and main roads are regularly cleaned, and waste is not left to accumulate for days. Pruning and maintenance of the green spaces are also prioritized to create a green landscape that is close to nature.
These efforts have contributed to making Sam Son a bright, green, clean, and beautiful place, leaving a positive impression on tourists who come to visit and swim at the beach.
Ms. Minh Huong, a tourist from Hanoi, said: “I am very impressed with Sam Son, because the beach here is always clean, beautiful, and refreshing, providing tourists with enjoyable moments of rest and relaxation. Not only that, the people here are also very harmonious, open, and friendly in welcoming tourists.”
For sustainable tourism development, creating a green, clean, beautiful, safe, and friendly tourism environment is a crucial factor. Therefore, Pù Luông commune has implemented numerous measures to ensure environmental hygiene in tourism development, notably focusing on building a comprehensive, high-quality tourism development plan, linked to land management, landscape, construction order, and environmental protection. The commune has mobilized the people to raise awareness and promote the role of the community in ensuring a clean tourism environment, collecting waste in their living areas to maintain general hygiene. Simultaneously, it has promoted the "Every citizen is a tourism ambassador" movement, encouraging civilized, friendly, and dedicated support for tourists. Furthermore, tourism businesses in the commune have also effectively collected and transported waste to designated locations, built waste treatment systems to ensure environmental hygiene, contributing to increasing the value of tourism resources and sustainable development.
Mr. Ha Van Hieu, a homestay owner in Don village, Pu Luong commune, shared: “My family pays special attention to developing diverse green tourism products, from eco-friendly homestays to creating green tourism products that offer many experiences for tourists. At the same time, we actively promote and remind tourists to work together to maintain cleanliness, not litter indiscriminately, and not affect the natural landscape and environment.”
Recognizing the crucial role of the environment in tourism development, various sectors and localities within the province have implemented numerous environmental protection solutions, contributing to a clean and beautiful landscape and aiming for green and sustainable tourism. These solutions include focusing on promoting environmental protection awareness and training for local officials and residents, especially in areas with tourist attractions, while also emphasizing the participation of tourists in environmental protection efforts to minimize impacts on the pristine natural beauty. Furthermore, priority is given to developing high-quality, sustainable tourism in line with "green growth," encouraging tourism businesses to use environmentally friendly materials. Simultaneously, the province actively implements the Code of Conduct for Tourism Activities to create a more professional and dynamic tourism environment while preserving cultural identity.
