By the end of this year, the Korean MDA Group plans to build an 18-hole golf course in Thanh Cong commune, Pho Yen city with a capital of more than 387 billion VND.
The Glory Golf Course project covers an area of nearly 54 hectares, with 18 holes, a service area, clubhouse, and auxiliary works, with a total investment of VND3,878.5 billion, equivalent to nearly USD16.5 million. Of which, the investor contributes 20%, the rest is mobilized capital according to project progress.
Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee approved the investment policy of Glory golf course project in Thanh Cong commune for MDA G&C Company Limited in June. On its website, the Korean Group also introduced that MDA G&C is developing a golf course project in Thai Nguyen .
MDA was established in 2006, with the main business lines being construction and industrial real estate, and also developed business activities in Vietnam shortly thereafter. Previously, in early 2021, the Korean enterprise also met with the leaders of Thai Nguyen province to propose that the province soon approve the policy of the golf course complex, ecological area, and resort villas in Pho Yen.
Glory Golf Course is located in Nhe hamlet and Na Lang hamlet, Thanh Cong commune, Pho Yen city. This location is 12 km from Pho Yen city center, 32 km from Thai Nguyen city center, 60 km from Hanoi city center. The north of the project borders the planned belt 5 of the capital region; the west borders the forest land of Nhe hamlet; the east borders the current residential area and forest land of Bii hamlet, Na Lang 1; the south borders Suoi Lanh Lake. The current status of the project area is mainly production forest land (planted forest) with more than 48 hectares. Non- agricultural land is only about 1.3 hectares.
According to the plan, after completing the procedures for approving the investment policy, changing the land use purpose, requesting land allocation and lease, the company will build a golf course, ancillary works, and purchase equipment from the fourth quarter of 2023. This project is expected to be completed and put into operation from the third quarter of 2025.
Glory Golf Course is one of 13 golf courses approved by the Prime Minister in the planning of Thai Nguyen province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Currently, Thai Nguyen does not have any standard golf courses. According to the plan, in addition to Glory, Pho Yen city will have 2 other golf courses. Thai Nguyen city has 3 courses, Dai Tu district also has 3 courses, Song Cong city has 2 courses. The remaining 2 projects are in Phu Binh and Dong Hy districts.
