At the seminar "Hanoi Agriculture: Cooperation and Investment for Sustainable Development" organized by the Hanoi Investment Promotion and Business Support Center in collaboration with the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association, Mr. Tran Trung My, Quality Assurance Director of TH Dairy Food Joint Stock Company, shared practical insights on developing green agriculture and the circular economy through high-tech solutions.

Mr. Tran Trung My (in white shirt) shared his views at the Hanoi Agriculture Forum: Cooperation and Investment for Sustainable Development.
The seminar was organized based on Program No. 05/CTr-UBND dated May 18, 2025, of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on the Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion Program for 2025. Besides the legal basis, the event was also held in the context of the Party and State's policy of developing green, organic, and circular agriculture.
With that orientation, the seminar is expected to become a forum for management agencies, experts, businesses, and investors to exchange experiences, propose solutions, and promote the application of high technology in agricultural production and processing; while also expanding opportunities for public-private cooperation and enhancing the competitiveness of green agricultural models in the capital city.
Sharing from the representative of TH Group provided a prime example, demonstrating how a large enterprise in the high-tech agricultural sector is implementing circular solutions to address environmental challenges effectively and sustainably. According to Mr. Tran Trung My, the biological bedding model currently applied throughout TH's dairy farm system is proof of the philosophy of transforming waste into resources, and is also one of the important solutions helping TH achieve its goals of reducing emissions and green production.
Explaining this solution, Mr. My said that the biological bedding is created from solid residue separated during the processing of cow manure, then cleaned and regenerated using Austrian BRU technology. This process significantly reduces the density of harmful microorganisms and creates a porous, absorbent organic material that deodorizes, limits methane formation, and keeps the barn floor dry and airy. "This is a simple yet highly effective solution if implemented correctly," Mr. My emphasized.

The production process of biological bedding is managed according to strict procedures, from separating solid waste and treating to reduce pathogens, to checking criteria such as odor, color, and structure before use. During operation, the farm's technical team must regularly monitor and treat damp spots to prevent anaerobic conditions; simultaneously, they plow, add new bedding, and apply Bedding Conditioner to control humidity and enhance the activity of beneficial microorganisms. This process ensures that the barn floor is always well-ventilated and clean, guaranteeing the welfare of the cattle and minimizing harmful gases.
Practical operation at TH's farm system shows that the biological bedding model has yielded significant results. Economically, the farm reduces the cost of purchasing bedding materials and has complete control over its raw material supply. Environmentally, the emissions of CH₄ and N₂O – two greenhouse gases with a strong impact – are significantly reduced; at the same time, the risk of water and soil pollution is better controlled. The working environment for farm workers also becomes cleaner, safer, and more pleasant. In particular, the cattle benefit from the soft, loose bedding, thereby reducing hoof and mastitis diseases, improving health and productivity.

Based on practical experience, Mr. Tran Trung My shared that the decisive factor of this model lies not only in technology but also in building a closed-loop supply chain mindset, from raw material cultivation, livestock farming, processing to the regeneration of by-products. Each link in the chain needs to be planned synchronously. "The biological bedding is only a part of the circular economy system that TH is building, but it shows clear effectiveness when we have a long-term strategy," he said.
Pioneering the path to clean fresh milk through sustainable production activities, TH Group adheres to the principles of the green economy and circular economy model from the very beginning when implementing the high-tech dairy farming and milk processing project worth 1.2 billion USD in Nghe An in 2009.

The project currently owns a herd of 70,000 cows, utilizing 8,100 hectares of cultivated land in Nghe An province alone. The fields are part of a closed-loop, circular green production chain following the "from green pastures to a glass of clean milk" process, encompassing everything from raw material cultivation and cattle farming to production and processing. TH also has two member units that have achieved international carbon neutrality certification according to PAS 2060:2014 standards: TH Dairy Joint Stock Company (operating the TH true MILK fresh milk processing plant) and Nui Tien Pure Water Company Limited (operating the Nui Tien pure water, herbal and fruit juice plant).
With the goal of carbon neutrality and ultimately achieving Net Zero, TH Group not only implements emission reduction solutions at the two aforementioned member units but also deploys many synchronized initiatives across the entire system, with the biological bedding solution being one of them. With a long-term strategy and a high-tech, circular, and sustainable agricultural ecosystem, TH Group continues to affirm its pioneering role as a Vietnamese enterprise in creating green production models, in line with the general development trends of Vietnam and the world.
