On January 12th, TH Group sent Official Letter No. 02/CV-THG to the People's Committee of Dien Bien Province proposing the construction of a macadamia processing plant in Dien Bien Province. The plant is intended to process products from macadamia nuts harvested from plantations within TH Group's project area, while also purchasing raw materials from local farmers in the province and neighboring areas. The establishment of this processing facility is expected to create a stable market for macadamia nuts, contributing to increased product value and farmers' income.
Currently, Dien Bien province has the second largest macadamia nut cultivation area in the country, after Lam Dong province, with over 12,360 hectares. Implementing the policy of restructuring the agricultural sector, the province has identified the development of key crops such as coffee, macadamia nuts, and fruit trees as a central direction, aiming to build a green, sustainable agriculture that is adaptable to climate change.

Over the years, many macadamia nut cultivation projects have been implemented in Dien Bien province, forming concentrated raw material areas and creating livelihoods for people, especially in rural areas and ethnic minority regions. However, deep processing remains limited, with most products being consumed in raw form, resulting in low added value. The factory, once operational, will contribute to promoting production linkages, forming a chain of connections between businesses, cooperatives, and farmers, and improving the efficiency of agricultural production.
Although specific details about the total investment are not yet available, the project is expected to create more jobs for local workers, increase budget revenue, and contribute to the sustainable transformation of the rural economic structure. At the same time, it is also an opportunity for Dien Bien to gradually build a macadamia nut brand associated with the local area's unique raw material production.
The People's Committee of Dien Bien province is considering the proposal from TH Group and has assigned relevant departments and agencies to research and advise on a plan for implementation that is consistent with the local agricultural and processing industry development plan in the coming period.
