Training on social work skills in the field of social assistance for commune and ward officials in Lao Cai province in 2025

Implementing Plan No. 110/KH-SYT dated November 6, 2025 of Lao Cai Provincial Department of Health on training in social work skills in the field of social assistance for commune and ward officials in 2025, on November 14, in Yen Bai ward, the Department of Health organized a training course for commune and ward officials in the old Yen Bai area. This is the first training course deployed by Lao Cai Provincial Health Department after the province's merger.

Attending and directing the training class were MSc. BSCKII Nguyen Trung Hieu - Deputy Director of the Department of Health. Attending the class were leaders in charge of culture and society, the Council for determining the level of disability and officers working in social protection at the localities.

Training class scene

During one day, trainees were trained on the following contents: social assistance and social pension policy system; methods for determining the level of disability; key provisions of Decree 110/2025/ND-CP of the Government on social work. These contents contribute to removing difficulties in the process of implementing policies at the grassroots level, while improving the advisory capacity of commune and ward level officials.

Students participating

Social assistance is an important policy in the social security system, providing timely support to disadvantaged people. Currently, the province has more than 64,000 beneficiaries of social assistance, with an estimated budget of over VND 530 billion in 2025. Regular and extraordinary assistance policies have contributed to stabilizing people's lives and ensuring social security. The training course contributes to improving the quality of implementing social assistance policies in the locality, contributing to the goal of building Lao Cai province to develop "green, harmonious, unique and happy"./.
