More than a week before the Lunar New Year of the Horse, Hang Giay and Hang Buom streets ( Hanoi ) were bustling with people buying and selling Tet candies and preserves.

Popular items include biscuits, Tet jam, preserved fruits, melon seeds, sunflower seeds... along with many types of imported candies and beverages.

Goods are constantly coming and going.

People jostle to buy Tet sweets and snacks amidst the bustling and hectic atmosphere of the year-end peak shopping season.

According to a survey on Hang Giay Street, domestically produced confectionery is sold by weight at prices ranging from 130,000 to 350,000 VND/kg. High-end imported products have price tags and are mainly sold wholesale.

Ms. Nguyen Minh Nguyet (Ha Dong ward) shared: "Every year I come here to shop because the goods are abundant, easy to choose from, and the prices are suitable for my family's income."

After some time to choose, many people left the neighborhood carrying large bags of sweets.

Many people from the suburbs also come to Hang Giay and Hang Buom streets to get goods to resell.

Ms. Huong, a small business owner selling Tet confectionery, said: "My customers are mainly wholesale orders from businesses or people buying as gifts. Besides selling directly at the store, we also constantly ship orders to customers who order online, so we're always busy to keep up with the orders."

Like many other small business owners, Mr. Thanh Hung's shop is entering its peak business season at this time. Mr. Hung said: "The price of confectionery this year is slightly higher than last year, mainly due to increased import and transportation costs, but the increase is insignificant and still affordable for customers."

According to vendors, the number of customers will increase even further after the Kitchen God Festival. During this time, many shops extend their opening hours until late at night, or even stay open all night to meet the shopping needs of the people.
