On the evening of August 2, answering VTC News reporters, the leader of the People's Committee of Phu Long commune (Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city) said that a tourist boat caught fire while traveling to the dry dock area for repairs.

Specifically, at 5:00 p.m. the same day, a tourist boat with a license plate of Quang Ninh was heading to the area to be repaired when it caught fire fiercely. At that time, there were 6 crew members on board. The area where the boat met with the accident was identified as Dau Chu, off the coast of Phu Long commune (Cat Hai district).

Upon receiving the news, authorities in Hai Phong urgently deployed rescue forces.

After about half an hour, the fire was extinguished. All 6 crew members on board were safe and were taken to Phu Long Commune People's Committee for medical care.

The cause of the incident is being investigated by the authorities.
