More than two days after leaving the Chinese port, this morning, December 7, the missile frigate 015 - Tran Hung Dao of Brigade 162, Naval Region 4, along with the Vietnam People's Navy delegation led by Colonel Nguyen Vinh Nam, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 4, arrived at Kure port, Hiroshima province, beginning a diplomatic visit to Japan.

Colonel Yanagihara, representative of Kure Naval Base, one of the largest bases of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, presided over the welcoming ceremony for the delegation and officers and sailors of the missile frigate 015 - Tran Hung Dao at the wharf. Also attending was Colonel Nguyen Thai Son, Vietnam's Defense Attaché in Japan.
Speaking at the welcoming ceremony, Colonel Yanagihara welcomed the Vietnam People's Navy delegation and the missile frigate 015 - Tran Hung Dao to visit Japan. The Colonel expressed his hope that through the exchange and contact activities within the framework of the visit, it will contribute to further developing the friendly cooperation between the two navies and the Vietnam - Japan relationship.

For his part, Colonel Nguyen Vinh Nam expressed his honor to lead the Vietnam People's Navy delegation and the missile frigate 015 - Tran Hung Dao to visit the beautiful city of Kure. Colonel Nam said that this trip encountered many difficulties due to the long journey at sea, in harsh weather conditions, but the officers and sailors of the ship showed their efforts and determination and arrived at Kure port safely, as planned.
The Deputy Commander of Vietnam Navy Region 4 believes that the visit will help officers and sailors of the two navies understand more about each other's country, people and culture, and serve as a bridge connecting the good cooperative and friendly relationship between Vietnam and Japan, and the armed forces and navies of the two countries.

This is the second time the missile frigate 015 - Tran Hung Dao has paid a courtesy visit to Japan and the first time it has visited Kure Naval Base.
The visit aims to concretize the joint vision statement on Vietnam-Japan defense cooperation towards the next decade signed by the two countries' defense ministries in 2018, in line with the comprehensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world; at the same time, further strengthen the friendly cooperation, trust and mutual understanding between the two navies.
