On December 2, the ROKS Hansando training ship of the Republic of Korea Navy with 375 officers and sailors led by Rear Admiral Hong Sang Yong docked at Tien Sa port, beginning a 4-day visit to Da Nang city.

The ship welcoming ceremony took place at Tien Sa port with the participation of representatives of the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs, the Navy Region 3 Command, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command, the City Military Command, the City Border Guard, the Da Nang Port Border Guard, the Foreign Affairs Department - Military Region 5 Command, representatives of the Foreign Affairs Department ( Ministry of National Defense ) and the Navy.

On the Korean side, there were the Korean Defense Attaché in Vietnam, officials from the Korean Embassy in Hanoi , the Korean Consulate General in Da Nang and a large Korean community living in the city.

The visit of the Korean Navy ship to Da Nang contributes to strengthening the friendly relations and mutual trust, in line with the policy of promoting the Vietnam - Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership upgraded from December 2022.

During their stay in Da Nang, the ship's commanding officer will pay courtesy calls to leaders of the city's People's Committee, Military Region 5, and Naval Region 3; exchange expertise and participate in sports activities with officers and staff of the Vietnam Navy, and visit some local cultural and tourist attractions.

ROKS Hansando is a multi-purpose training ship of the Republic of Korea Navy. The ship is 142m long, 25m wide, and has a displacement of about 4,300 tons. The ship has a maximum speed of 24 knots and a range of 6,479 nautical miles.

Thanks to its multi-purpose design, in addition to the task of training officers and crew, the ROKS Hansando can also serve as a hospital ship with an operating room, lecture hall and the ability to receive more than 400 people. The ship is equipped with a warehouse, a helicopter landing pad at the stern, a gunboat at the bow and a double-barreled gun at the stern....

The ROKS Hansando visited Ho Chi Minh City in September 2022, when it undertook a 110-day training trip through 10 ports in 9 countries. Vietnam was the ship's first stop on this journey.
