On February 10th, the luxury cruise ship Le Jacques Cartier (belonging to Compagnie du Ponant, a French cruise line) docked at Ben Dam port, bringing over 100 international tourists and 100 crew members who departed from Singapore to visit and explore Con Dao Island. This is the first international cruise ship to arrive in the Con Dao Special Economic Zone (Ho Chi Minh City) in 2026.
The Con Dao Special Administrative Region authorities, along with relevant agencies, organized a solemn welcoming ceremony; promptly assisted with necessary procedures for the crew and tourists, demonstrating friendliness and professionalism, creating a positive impression of a safe and hospitable destination for tourists from the very first moments of their arrival in Vietnam.
Tourists will visit prominent destinations such as historical sites, explore the natural beauty of Con Dao National Park, enjoy pristine beaches, and experience local culinary culture. At 7 PM on the same day, the Le Jacques Cartier cruise ship departs from Con Dao, taking tourists to continue their sightseeing and exploration in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City.
During its cruise in Vietnam, the Le Jacques Cartier ship will take tourists to visit and explore other destinations in Quy Nhon, Da Nang, Chan May Bay, and Ha Long Bay.
In 2025, Con Dao welcomed over 612,000 tourists, including approximately 25,600 international visitors.
The arrival of the international cruise ship Le Jacques Cartier in the early days of 2026 is seen as a promising start to a vibrant new year for Con Dao's tourism industry.
