In Tan Tru commune, from the evening of May 17th, a storm damaged the roofs of 12 houses and destroyed many household items. Fallen trees disrupted electricity and communication in some areas. The total estimated damage is nearly 200 million VND, of which the damage to residents is approximately 170 million VND.

Meanwhile, in Vinh Chau commune, extreme weather also blew off the roof of a house in Vinh An hamlet, with estimated damage of about 60 million VND.

Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, local authorities mobilized forces to assist people in clearing fallen trees, collecting damaged items, repairing roofs, and reinforcing houses.
The power sector is also urgently inspecting and addressing unsafe points, and restoring power supply to affected areas as soon as possible.

Given the unpredictable weather forecast, authorities advise residents to proactively inspect and reinforce their homes, and trim trees near residential areas and transportation routes to minimize damage caused by thunderstorms and tornadoes.
