With the message that everyone, every family should have a Tet holiday and no one should be left behind, this year's Tet holiday in Bac Ninh province focused on reviewing difficult circumstances, the poor, those who have contributed to the revolution, and the elderly, organizing delegations to visit, encourage, and give gifts.

During a business trip to Yen Dinh commune, a remote mountainous area in Bac Ninh province, just before the Lunar New Year, each convoy of vehicles carrying Tet gifts to poor and disadvantaged families, as well as families who contributed to the revolution, carried with it the love and sharing spirit of the entire community.

In her small house of about 20 square meters, Mrs. Lam Thi Tam, born in 1947 in Yen Dinh commune, who has a congenital disability, is cleaning and decorating her little home by herself. Mrs. Tam said that for many years, she has been a single mother living in a poor household, residing in a house built with charitable donations and supported by relatives and neighbors. Every Tet (Lunar New Year), although she lives alone, she feels warm inside because of the encouragement and support from her neighbors and the local government.

On the altar, a tray of five kinds of fruit, sweets, and Tet jams were prepared, and under the table were hot banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes), slices of pork sausage, and meat. Mrs. Tam said this was a sign of the care and support from the authorities at all levels. Receiving these meaningful Tet gifts was not only a material gift but also brought her spiritual joy as Tet approached. "Thank you to the government for caring for and looking after us people," Mrs. Tam expressed.

Receiving Tet gifts at the People's Committee of Son Dong commune, Bac Ninh province, Mr. Hoang Van Minh, born in 1960, a disabled veteran (category 1/4) who participated in fighting to protect the northern border, currently residing in Hamlet No. 1, Son Dong commune, emotionally shared: Due to head, spinal, and leg injuries sustained during the war, his health has deteriorated, and his family's life is still difficult. Every year, his family receives attention, visits, and gifts from various levels of government during Tet. This year, in addition to receiving gifts from the Party and State for families with meritorious service, he also received gifts from the province and commune. These gifts help make his family's Tet celebration more prosperous and fulfilling.

According to Mr. Minh, the increasingly thoughtful attention of the Party and State to policy beneficiaries, the elderly, the disadvantaged, and those who have made contributions to the nation, from the central, provincial, and commune levels, is a great source of encouragement for him to continue striving in life; and through that, to continue educating his descendants about revolutionary traditions and remembering those who have contributed to the nation.

In Kim Thieu neighborhood, Phu Khe ward, the difficult circumstances of Ms. Vu Thi Minh Thuy have also received attention from the government and the community. Although she never married, she has one child. Tragically, her child suffers from cerebral palsy, and she has raised him alone for the past 28 years. The two rely on each other, their income mainly coming from the child's social welfare benefits and the mother's disability care support. Every day, after caring for her child, Ms. Thuy works in agriculture to earn extra income. Besides covering living expenses, the two carefully save every penny to buy medicine and treat her child's illness. This Tet (Lunar New Year), Ms. Thuy received 1.3 million VND in Tet gifts and a package of essential necessities such as cooking oil, salt, eggs, and sweets, which have helped alleviate some of their difficulties and enabled them to continue striving in life.

So that no one is left behind.

Providing Tết (Lunar New Year) support for the poor, disabled, and beneficiaries of social policies in Bac Ninh demonstrates the concern of the Party, the State, and all levels of government in ensuring social security, contributing to ensuring that everyone can celebrate the new year in a warm and meaningful atmosphere.

According to Le Xuan Loi, Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee, during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the province established 24 delegations to visit and present gifts directly to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, veteran revolutionary cadres, meritorious individuals, the elderly, and poor households. Simultaneously, localities also intensified efforts to care for meritorious individuals and vulnerable groups.

This year, for the Lunar New Year of the Horse (Bính Ngọ), the province has allocated over 130 billion VND to give gifts to people with meritorious service, relatives of people with meritorious service to the revolution who are receiving monthly allowances, poor households; the elderly; social welfare beneficiaries, and children with special and difficult circumstances.

The Bac Ninh Provincial "For the Poor" Fund Campaign Committee allocated over 23.6 billion VND to provide Tet gifts to 100% of poor and near-poor households in the province. This money was transferred from the Bac Ninh Provincial "For the Poor" Fund account to the "For the Poor" Fund accounts of 99 communes and wards. Specifically, over 7,800 poor households received gifts worth 1.3 million VND each. Notably, to practically care for the people, this year, for the first time, 100% of near-poor households in the province received Tet gifts, each gift worth 1 million VND in cash. According to statistics, the province currently has 13,537 near-poor households.

According to Thai Hai Anh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Ninh province: To provide more resources to support the people, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Ninh province is focusing on directing the distribution of gifts based on the actual situation of each locality; mobilizing additional support from businesses; and arranging for units, businesses, and individuals to directly give gifts or celebrate Tet with the people.

This helps strengthen the bond between organizations and the people, avoiding duplication or omissions, and providing households with additional resources and motivation to improve their lives. At the same time, it ensures effective reporting, transparency in fundraising results, and builds trust among agencies, businesses, and sponsors, encouraging continued support for the fund.
